FULTON CHAIN TRIFECTA

3 Peaks in the Old Forge, NY region of the Western Adirondacks.

A REVIEW/GUIDE OF HIKING THE FULTON CHAIN TRIFECTA

I had never hiked Old Forge until this challenge. The majority of my life I had spent focused on the Lake George hiking areas due to proximity to my house.

My boyfriend has spent a ton of time in the Raquette Lake area and suggested this hiking challenge.

The Fulton Chain Trifecta is a hiking challenge of the 3 Old Forge Mountains: Black Bear Mountain, Rocky Mountain, and Bald Mountain.

These are hikes are VERY different than the usual 3-5 mile Lake George hike that I'm used to. We started the challenge hiking Bald & Rocky in the same day and both are very short hikes. Bald (2 miles) and Rocky (only 1 mile), are both short hikes but very steep and directly vertical hikes.

This challenge is only a total of 7.7 miles and provides really beautiful views over the lake. Would highly recommend!

BALD MOUNTAIN

A quick 2 mile hike with 436 ft of elevation, showcasing beautiful lake views and a firetower at the summit.
