HIKING ACADIA NATIONAL PARK - Beehive Loop Trail

BEEHIVE LOOP

We started off our hiking trip in Acadia National Park at the Beehive hike. This hike is a 1.5 mile loop difficult hike up the mountain. This hike is NOT for those afraid of heights.

It starts off right away with a pretty vertical rock scramble, and then as you continue up it begins a climb.

The climb to the summit is very steep, rung climbing and walking alongside the edge of a lot of cliffs up to the summit.

I wouldn't call the hike 'difficult', I think that it mainly requires you to be in good shape to climb up the rungs, and also requires you to be okay with heights. If you can do both of you, definitely make this a stop on your Maine vacation.

The best part about the Acadia hikes that I liked was the fact that the majority of the hike is filled with views over looking the ocean - stunning.

The summit is a nice size with panoramic views of the coast of Maine and the ocean.

Thank GOD, but you don't come back down the same way you ascended to the summit. It is a loop hike so you come down a more meandering route.
